The design shows a white cross on a field of red. ANTHEM: There are two national anthems—Kong Kristian stod ved hojen mast (King Christian Stood by the Lofty Mast) and Der er et yndigt land (There Is a Lovely Land). MONETARY UNIT: The krone (KR) of 100 øre is a commercially convertible paper currency with one basic official exchange rate. There are coins of 25 and 50 øre, and 1, 5, 10, and 20 kroner, and notes of 50, 100, 500, and 1,000 kroner. KR1 = $0.1477 (or $1 = KR6.77) as of May 2003. WEIGHTS AND MEASURES: The metric system is the legal standard, but some local units are used for special purposes.
