MONETARY UNIT: As of 1 January 1981, the vatu (VT) replaced at par value the New Hebridean franc as
the national currency. There are coins of 100 vatu and notes of 100, 500, 1,000, and 5,000 vatu. VT1 =
$0.0078 (or $1 = VT126.97) as of May 2003.
WEIGHTS AND MEASURES: The metric standard is used.
